About the Role

The Commercial Analysis department at RWE Supply & Trading GmbH is seeking a highly skilled Commercial Auction Analyst to join their team. As a key member of the Auction team, you will be responsible for providing detailed commercial insights and analytical support to RWE's businesses across the globe.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement game theory-based bidding strategies to optimize auction outcomes
  • Provide expert analysis and recommendations on auction mechanisms and their impact on RWE projects
  • Drive the development of auction analysis tools and frameworks to support RWE's commercial activities
  • Collaborate with the strategy department to assess market attractiveness and auction regimes

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Economics, Finance, Engineering, Statistics, or Mathematics
  • Strong knowledge of game theory and/or experience in auction processes
  • Professional experience in the energy sector or related industry
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills, with the ability to present complex ideas to senior management
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and/or strong Microsoft Excel skills
