Job Summary
The Senior Vice President/General Manager, Liquid Phase Chromatography Division will be responsible for leading the Liquid Phase Chromatography business at Agilent, driving profitable growth, and expanding market share. This role will be a key member of the executive leadership team and will work closely with other Agilent teams to advance the company's success in the life sciences, diagnostics, and applied chemical markets.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute business strategies to drive growth and profitability
- Lead a global team of marketing, customer excellence, and R&D professionals
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to advance Agilent's success in the life sciences, diagnostics, and applied chemical markets
- Manage a large P&L and make strategic decisions to drive business results
- Build and maintain relationships with senior executives and peers
- Develop and execute multi-year strategic plans at the company, group, or business unit level
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or other scientific discipline, advanced degree (PhD, MBA, or like) preferred
- 10+ years of increasing levels of management responsibilities in product marketing, order fulfillment, R&D, or business development
- Domain knowledge and understanding of the customers, competitors, platforms, technologies, and relevant market dynamics for the global liquid chromatography market
- Proven P&L leadership of large businesses and/or commercial functions
- Strategic and execution ability; proven experience in developing and executing multi-year strategic plans at the company, group, or business unit level
- Knowledge and experience in developing, launching, and ramping products
- Knowledge and experience leading life cycle management processes (R&D, marketing, manufacturing)
- Meaningful knowledge and established senior-level relationships with the Channel organization and other internal partner organizations
- Proven ability to effectively engage, interact with, influence, and retain the confidence of senior executives and peers at the executive level
- Demonstrated track record of success in leading winning teams while growing revenues/market share, especially in end markets related to pharma, biopharma, life sciences, and/or chemical analysis
- Experienced in leading large R&D teams with complex goals and interdependencies between and across teams
- Proven experience in developing and executing multi-year strategic plans at the company, group, or business unit level
- Demonstrated track record of results using interpersonal, relationship-building skills required in leading multi-cultural and geographically dispersed teams in a fast-paced, highly matrixed environment
- Financial acumen and analytical analysis with deep understanding of various levers in management of complex, large P&L
- Business strategy - experience in creating business strategies and translating strategies to actionable plans
- Influence - ability to present compelling proposals and solutions and to debate them effectively to senior executives and peers
- Communicate with clarity, conviction, and confidence across various stakeholders and decision makers
- Build and leverage productive collaborations and partnerships across internal and external stakeholders
- Demonstrate written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, including explaining complex concepts, delivering presentations to senior executive audiences
- Demonstrate decisiveness and speed to opportunity
- Leadership maturity, confidence, and a high degree of emotional intelligence and ability to reflect, internalize, and respond quickly
