Key Objectives of this Role:

  • The optical stack consists of a cover lens, including optical films and coatings, and the optical integration of a touch sensor and a display.
  • As an Optical Stack engineer, you will act as an expert for the display optical stack, leading technical discussions and supporting different departments.
  • You will analyze customer requirements, design an appropriate optical stack solution, and track suppliers.
  • You will also support the core team in developing new suppliers and technologies to advance the state of the art.
  • You will perform laboratory measurements pertaining to the optical stack.

Qualification, Experience and Skills:

Mandatory:

  • Bachelor of Physics or equivalent, with a strong background in optics and material science.
  • Several years of experience in the optical application field, preferably in optical metrology.
  • Strong knowledge in optics and industrial production processes for optical elements.
  • Design experience in LC displays, OLEDs, touch sensors, and technical glass for automotive.
  • Experience with optical functional films and coating materials.

Preferred:

  • Optical component design and production.
  • Thin film coatings design and manufacturing process.
  • Experience in optical bonding technologies.
  • High levels of initiative, independence, and resilience.
  • Good communication skills, oral, written, and presentation.
  • Fluent in German and English.

Reporting Structure: Reports to the Associate Manager of the Optics team in Germany.
