Optical Stack Application Engineer

Job Summary:

Visteon Corporation is seeking a highly skilled Optical Stack Application Engineer to join our team in Germany. As an Optical Stack Application Engineer, you will play a critical role in enabling a software-defined, electrified future for the automotive industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop innovative optical stack solutions for display applications.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and customers to lead technical discussions and support the development of new suppliers and technologies.
  • Analyze customer requirements and track suppliers to ensure high-quality optical stack solutions.
  • Perform laboratory measurements and testing to ensure compliance with industry standards.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Physics, Optics, or a related field, with a Master's degree preferred.
  • Several years of experience in the optical application field, preferably in optical metrology.
  • Strong knowledge of optics, including linear geometric optics, and industrial production processes for optical elements.
  • Design experience in LC displays, OLEDs, touch sensors, technical glass for automotive, and plastics materials for optical components.
  • Experience with optical functional films and coating materials.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Optical component design and production experience.
  • Thin film coatings design and manufacturing process experience.
  • Experience in optical bonding technologies and structural bonding.
  • High levels of initiative, independence, and resilience.
  • Good communication skills, oral, written, and presentation.
  • Fluent in German and English.

Reporting Structure:

Reports to the Associate Manager of the Optics team in Germany.
