Shipping Relationship Manager

Your Responsibilities:

  • Take ownership of client acquisition, assessment, and onboarding for corporate shipping clients in Greece and/or Western Europe, ensuring direct regular contact with clients, including business travel into relevant regions.
  • Be responsible for the smooth running of day-to-day business as an integral part of the overall Berenberg team, including account management, international payments, cash management, deposit management, financial products, guarantees, and conditional payments within the industrial environment of operational shipping.
  • Coordinate and closely cooperate with Berenberg's product specialists to develop and enforce the best client strategy, ensuring a tailored product offering to clients on a case-by-case basis.
  • Actively moderate a dialogue with internal Berenberg stakeholders, including the KYC team, Compliance team, and others, to secure Berenberg's expertise and reliability of high-level services in the market.
  • Take responsibility for the commercially successful development of the overall client relationship.

Your Profile:

  • Extensive experience in corporate banking and/or the shipping industry as a relationship manager or a similar role.
  • A structured, intrinsic motivated, and goal-oriented approach to guiding (potential) clients, driven by high-quality standards.
  • Excellent service orientation, with the ability to take on a prominent and representative role in an international business environment.
  • Eager to take on new challenges and demonstrate a passion for the maritime and financial service industries.
  • Ambitious, proactive, and passionate team player.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • A high standard of oral and written English, German, and/or Greek is beneficial.
