About the Job

As an Automation Engineer at Amazon TA, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our automated systems. Your primary responsibility will be to oversee the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of critical systems, ensuring that our customers receive their orders on time.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and maintain automated systems, including conveyor belts, sorters, and other equipment.
  • Investigate and resolve issues with automated systems, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure minimal downtime.
  • Develop and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and productivity.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the organization to ensure accurate documentation and maintenance of all systems.
  • Support other Amazon TA locations as needed, providing expertise and guidance to ensure seamless operations.
Requirements
  • State-certified technician or equivalent experience in electrical engineering or a related field.
  • Experience with SPS-controlled automation and fault diagnosis in running processes or active production environments.
  • Experience in maintaining various conveyor and sorting systems.
  • Experience with material transport, throughput, and capacity visualization and monitoring.
  • Experience with at least one of the following: Microsoft Office, project management tools, and EPLAN; contact plan and structure programming from Siemens, Allen-Brady, or Codesys SPS; Ignition SCADA or similar platform, and human-machine interface (HMI); EthernetIP, Profinet, Profibus, and AS-i or other fieldbus networks; frequency converters, safety gateways, and input/output devices.
  • Advanced English and German language skills in writing and speaking.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Degree in computer science, electrical engineering, industrial electronics, or a related technical field.
  • Experience working in accordance with ISO 13849 and ISO 62061 standards.
  • Experience in managing multiple locations simultaneously.
  • Project management experience with various models, such as waterfall and agile methodologies.
  • Experience with Six Sigma, data analysis, or process improvement methodologies.
