Galileo L1 Maintenance Specialist

Key Responsibilities

As a member of the L1 Maintenance Team at HE Space, you will be responsible for the maintenance and administration of the IT platform for the Galileo Ground Control and Mission Segments. This includes:

  • Maintenance and administration of Unix and Windows systems;
  • Administration of user and root accounts;
  • Installation and verification of new and replacement parts;
  • Validation of maintenance procedures;
  • Performing system tests and interface tests;
  • Development of maintenance procedures based on existing documentation;
  • Documentation of work and configurations in a ticket system;
  • Research and implementation of innovative solutions to improve IT systems;
  • Periodic participation in on-call maintenance service.

Requirements

You will have the following qualifications and experience:

  • Engineering degree in a relevant technical field;
  • Solid knowledge of operating systems such as Linux and Windows;
  • Linux skills and proficient use of the command line;
  • Understanding of network protocols and database systems;
  • Experience in system/network engineering and administration is advantageous;
  • Experience in server infrastructure maintenance is advantageous;
  • Knowledge of ITIL processes and project management is advantageous;
  • Willingness to adhere to strict security policies and regulations;
  • Team orientation and ability to communicate and collaborate effectively;
  • Availability to support on-call service and occasional travel to other Galileo sites;
  • Active PSC clearance;
  • Fluency in English is mandatory; knowledge of another European language is an advantage.
