Job Description

Thermo Fisher Scientific is seeking a highly skilled Senior Bioinformatics Scientist to join our team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead technical aspects of bioinformatics and software projects within R&D, from requirements analysis to deployment.
  • Provide bioinformatics expertise and insights to multidisciplinary teams.
  • Collaborate with product management, domain specialists, and developers to define technical roadmaps and prioritize feature development.
  • Mentor junior team members to foster skill development and ensure high-quality work.
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in bioinformatics and integrate these into software development projects.
  • Work with diverse teams to integrate bioinformatics knowledge into software solutions seamlessly.
Requirements
  • Degree in computer science, bioinformatics, or a related field; PhD or at least 6 years of professional experience in the relevant field.
  • Solid understanding of bioinformatics concepts, algorithms, and data structures.
  • Experience with bioinformatics tools and databases (e.g. BLAST, Genome Browsers, NCBI databases).
  • Familiarity with data analysis techniques and statistical methods.
  • Proficiency in object-oriented software development (e.g..Net, Java), frameworks, and tools.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, capable of managing multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
