Sustainability Manager: Environmental Stewardship

Role Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sustainability Manager to join our team at Hannover Re. As a key member of our Group Strategy & Sustainability team, you will be responsible for the coordination and implementation of (regulatory) requirements, including CSRD, CSDDD, and EU Taxonomy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and implement Group-wide ESG-related reporting in our Group management report.
  • Support the integration of relevant information into data management systems.
  • Track publications on complex ESG regulations and derive appropriate measures.
  • Analyze global trends and develop strategic sustainability goals.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams/working groups on Group-wide implementation projects.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Several years of professional experience in sustainability management in a large corporation, preferably in a financial services company or a global consulting firm.
  • Master's or postgraduate degree, preferably in business administration, business law, or political science.
  • In-depth knowledge of ESG-related EU regulations and underlying frameworks.
  • Experience in leading or participating in cross-divisional or global projects.
  • Strong communication skills paired with German at a conversational level and English at a business fluent level.
  • An independent way of working, entrepreneurial thinking, and acting as well as a pronounced solution orientation.
