About the Role
RWE AG is seeking a highly skilled Senior Manager Structured Finance to join our team. As a key member of our Structured Finance team, you will be responsible for developing innovative project finance solutions for our Renewables segment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assume full responsibility for the preparation, structuring, negotiation, and execution of complex financing solutions for Renewables projects, ensuring alignment with and coordination of all internal and external project parties on all finance-related topics.
- Support RWE's M&A activities by assuming responsibility for the financial due diligence on finance-related topics, identifying risks and opportunities, and developing plans to mitigate and manage them.
- Prepare, apply for, and execute export credit insurances and investment guarantees, such as investment guarantees of the Federal Republic of Germany.
- Serve as the first point of contact to external debt advisors and be responsible for scoping and negotiating debt advisory mandates.
- Consult the RWE Renewables Group (including its affiliates) on all finance-related queries, such as the assessment of financial risks, leasing, and other financing structures.
- Develop, draft, and review group internal finance directives and manage approval requests.
Requirements
- University degree in finance, banking, or economics.
- At least 8 years of relevant experience in non-recourse project finance, having secured significant amounts of project debt and participated in a number of transactions (at least one of which in a lead position).
- Strong understanding of corporate and structured finance solutions, such as non-recourse project financing, and other cash flow-based financing instruments, leasing, etc.
- Strong understanding of adjacent disciplines, such as Legal, Valuation, Tax, and Accounting, the ability to coordinate with such disciplines on finance-related issues, and the ability to work in cross-functional teams.
- Strong analytical and communicational skills (verbal and written) across departments and hierarchies; strong negotiation skills as well as the ability to present complex structures in a coherent manner.
- Strong intercultural competences, high degree of commitment, and resilience as well as willingness to act in an independent and entrepreneurial manner.
- Fluent in German and English.
- Willingness to travel (approx. 25%).
Desirable Qualifications
- Knowledge of the renewables energy market.
- Additional language skills.
