Strategic Director for European Base Chemicals

As a key member of HELM AG's Business Unit Chemicals, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to take on the role of Director of Base Chemical Solutions Europe.

This strategic leadership position requires a dynamic individual with a proven track record in leadership, management, and strategic business development.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the overall European base chemical strategy, driving the development and implementation of product-specific strategies to achieve business objectives and market growth.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and implementing a comprehensive European base chemical strategy to drive business growth and profitability.
  • Overseeing risk management processes to ensure effective identification, assessment, and mitigation of risks.
  • Providing leadership and development for the Heads of Base Chemical Strategy and their respective teams.
  • Cultivating a culture of excellence and continuous improvement within the team.
  • Coaching, training, and developing team members through effective goal setting, regular performance reviews, and constructive feedback sessions.
  • Promoting a mindset of constant profit optimization and continuous long-term business development.
  • Stimulating collaboration with peer units in sales and supply chain to achieve business goals and improve operational efficiency.

The ideal candidate will possess a degree in business or economics, with at least 10 years of professional experience in chemical base products and extensive experience in the European chemicals market.

Key qualifications include:

  • Proven leadership experience in managing and motivating teams within a dynamic environment.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and ability to communicate complex matters in simple words.
  • Highly strategic development and implementation skills.
  • Proficiency in common IT applications, including MS Office and ARIS.
  • Excellent English language skills, with additional language skills an advantage.
