Senior Mechatronic Engineer

We are seeking an exceptional Senior Mechatronic Engineer to join our Research and Technology Team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and developing next-generation electro-mechanical systems, mechatronic devices, and electromagnetic designs for our Propulsion System.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the design and testing of electro-mechanical, electro-thermal, and electro-acoustic systems for our electric jet propulsion and energy systems.
- Focus on weight reduction, design for manufacturing, cost, and ensuring compliance with company processes.
- Drive the planning, execution, and reporting of technology development and demonstration activities, including prototype design, manufacturing, testing, and documentation.
- Closely collaborate with power electronics and control engineers, systems engineers, and mechanical engineers to support electrical and mechanical component design and integration.
- Closely collaborate with test engineers for testing and performance validation.
- Work on ad-hoc related tasks or projects provided by management.
- Continuously learn and explore innovative technologies, sharing and maturing them with your team members.
- University degree in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or similar (MSc/M.Eng preferred).
- A minimum of 5-7 years of professional experience with mechanical design projects and composite materials used in the aerospace/avionics industry.
- Strong hands-on mentality and experience in designing, building, and testing end-to-end electro-mechanical hardware and software solutions.
- Expertise in motor and sensor control and general controllers.
- Experience with the agile concept and fast iterative pre-development phase of the R&T process.
- Knowledge of a CAD system such as Siemens NX is preferred.
- Basic skills in Matlab or LabView programming.
- Self-driven, agile, pragmatic, creative, and target-oriented way of working.
- Fluent English language skills are essential, and fluent German or any other language would be beneficial.
