Senior Mechatronic Engineer

We are seeking an exceptional Senior Mechatronic Engineer to join our Research and Technology Team at Lilium. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in designing and developing next-generation electro-mechanical systems, mechatronic devices, and electromagnetic designs for our Propulsion System.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the concept, design, and testing of electro-mechanical, electro-thermal, and electro-acoustic systems for our electric jet propulsion and energy systems.
- Drive the planning, execution, and reporting of technology development and demonstration activities, including prototype design, manufacturing, testing, and documentation.
- Closely collaborate with power electronics and control engineers, systems engineers, and mechanical engineers to ensure seamless integration of electrical and mechanical components.
- Work closely with test engineers to validate performance and ensure compliance with company processes.
- Contribute to the development of innovative technologies and share knowledge with team members to drive continuous improvement.
- University degree in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (MSc/M.Eng preferred).
- Minimum 5-7 years of professional experience in mechanical design projects and composite materials used in the aerospace/avionics industry.
- Strong hands-on experience in designing, building, and testing end-to-end electro-mechanical hardware and software solutions.
- Expertise in motor and sensor control, general controllers, and agile design methodologies.
- Knowledge of CAD systems, such as Siemens NX, and basic skills in Matlab or LabView programming.
- Self-driven, agile, pragmatic, creative, and target-oriented work style.
- Fluent English language skills are essential, with fluency in German or other languages beneficial.
