Rack Decomposition Manager

About the Role

AWS Infrastructure Services is seeking a highly skilled Rack Decomposition Manager to join our team. As a key member of our Data Center Operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and secure decommissioning of all media types, including disks, solid state disks, and flash cards.

Key Responsibilities

• Routinely review ticket queue for large events and address accordingly
• Coordinate change management resources
• Guide, train, and educate data staff on best practices related to service owner issues
• Manage and deliver midsize projects
• Recommend, document, and oversee policies and procedures to meet industry best practices and SLAs
• Manage a diverse team of decom technicians with varying skills
• Provide weekly reports to the Cluster Manager
• Maintain the oncall schedule, coordinating absence and vacations
• Recruit and train decom technicians to ensure appropriate staffing levels
• Write and deliver performance reviews for staff

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in business administration, engineering, computer science, or a related field, or equivalent experience or education
• Experience managing IT infrastructure projects from initiation to closure, with experience in a data center environment
• Experience working in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment while prioritizing and managing multiple responsibilities
