Biotechnology Research Assistant: Automated Production of Stem Cell Therapeutics

At the Fraunhofer Institute for Production Technology IPT, we are working on the development of automated systems and software for the efficient and cost-effective production of biological materials. This enables the upscaling of biological processes for the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries to optimize laboratory automation with Industry 4.0 technologies.
As a research assistant, you will support our team in the scaled production of stem cells in bioreactors and their analysis. You will work on implementing bioreactor runs and analyzing the results.
Key responsibilities include:
- Support in the cultivation of mesenchymal stem cells
- Implementation of bioreactor runs and its analysis afterwards
Requirements:
- You are studying biotechnology, biology or biomedical engineering or a comparable subject
- Solid background in (stem) cell cultivation and sterile work beneficial
- Ideally initial experience in working with bioreactors and chromatography systems
- A high degree of motivation, initiative, independence and team spirit
- Good language skills in German and/or English
