The Faculty of Biology and Chemistry at the Justus Liebig University Giessen is offering a doctoral scholarship in systems biology.
Research Topic:Metabolic interaction network of the human host-microbiota for context-specific disease
Requirements:- University degree in Systems Biology, Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Mathematics, Biological Engineering, or a related field
- Above-average study and examination results demonstrating a particular aptitude for scientific work
- Strong background in computational tools and programming languages (Python, MATLAB) and familiarity with COBRAPy and GEM software
- Experience in machine learning, dynamical modeling, big data analysis, microbial genomics, genome-scale modeling, and metabolic network analysis
- Willingness for active interdisciplinary cooperation and high intrinsic motivation in a team-working
- High willingness to independently familiarize yourself with new technologies and strengthen your own profile
- Compliance with the statutes of the Justus Liebig University Giessen to ensure good scientific practice in all work
- The doctoral project should make an important and outstanding contribution to the advancement of knowledge
