Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Fire Risk Management Inspector to join our team at U.S. Army Europe and Africa. As a Fire Risk Management Inspector, you will be responsible for ensuring a safe environment in facilities and for operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct fire risk management surveys to identify potential fire hazards and develop corrective action plans.
  • Assess the risk of each violation and develop corrective action plans, providing different options for tenants and facility engineers to achieve compliance.
  • Prepare fire risk management survey reports showing deficiencies noted, justifying the code violation and risk associated, and determines corrective actions to be taken.
  • Initiate corrective actions to achieve code compliance, which are the responsibility of the Department of Public Works under the established repair and maintenance program.
  • Assign risk assessment codes (RAC) IAW AR to every violation and forward RAC 1 to 3 shortfalls to be included in the installation's hazard abatement program for follow-up.
  • Perform follow-up inspections as needed to document corrective actions are implemented.
  • Develop and provide training classes for the entire installation population, tailored to the needs of different audiences.
  • Develop theoretical and practical fire prevention classes to include fire extinguisher classes, identifying required in-house and outside resources tailored to different target groups.
  • Maintain and update documentation of training programs, establish individual training evaluation records for all firefighters, and prepare regular statistical and narrative reports as required to reflect training status and progress.
Requirements
  • Applicants must have a valid host Nation Class B motor vehicle operator license.
  • Possession of a valid host Nation Class C or Class CE motor vehicle operator license is desired.
  • English Language Proficiency Level B2 and German Language Proficiency Level C2 are required.
  • Ability to operate a computer.
  • Pass a medical evaluation as determined appropriate by US Army authorities.
  • Complete and pass required medical examinations as determined appropriate by US Army authorities.
  • Incumbent must complete and/or provide copies of the DoD Firefighter Certifications for Fire Instructor I, Fire Inspector I & II, Public Fire & Life Safety Educator, and HazMat Awareness within 2 years of the final job offer.
Working Conditions
  • The incumbent of this position is occasionally required to perform TDY (Temporary Duty Travel).
  • Working on weekends and holidays is required.
  • On-Call duty is required.
  • Physical Exam BGI/GUV-I AND BGI/GUV-I is required.
  • Employee must be able to lift and carry up to 160 lbs.
