**Duties**:

- Develop and recommend comprehensive Police and Law Enforcement strategies.
- Participates in the integration of police activities long term goals and objectives in support of the strategic plan.
- Analyze crime and incident statistics provided both from the Garrison Directorate of Emergency Services (DES) and higher to determine trends and risk areas to the Command.
- Coordinate with other military and host nation law enforcement agencies to gather facts or evidence for use in assigned cases.
- Maintains awareness of key agency issues, policies, and programs which have potential to influence long and short term strategies, plans and goals.
- Develop and recommend special operations as supported by trends analysis.
- Develop plans for specific police responses to emergencies and the DES Police Department portion of USAG Ansbach contingency plans.
- Provides recommendations on issues and policies, recommends solutions to problems and offers strategies to incorporate changes into the organizational strategic plan that enhances overall business practices.
- Support events (parades, ceremonies, fireworks, seasonal events etc.) through traffic control, crowd control, apprehension and detention of offenders, security of personnel, and security of facilities.

**Requirements**:
**Conditions of Employment**:

- Must complete initial/annual CPR (re)-certification and first aid. Must meet annual training and re-certification requirements.
- One year trial/probationary period may be required. One year of supervisory probationary period may be required.
- Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
- You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship.
- Applicants must comply with the Exceptional Family Member Program requirements as outlined in the DoD Instruction 1315.19.
- This position requires you to be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance of access for the duration of employment which includes a background investigation and credit check.
- Must wear the DACP/SG uniform, chemical protection equipment and maintain a high state of appearance and hygiene.
- Must obtain a medical clearance before permission is granted to take the Physical Agility Test (PAT). Meet manual dexterity, vision and hearing test; pass the annual PAT, pass a periodic examination. Must pass the Physical Agility Test.
- Must Graduate from a USAMPS accredited academy, unless have a current approved waiver from the Office of the Provost Marshal General (OPMG).
- Must qualify/remain qualified for the Individual Reliability Program (IRP).
- Must possess a US motor vehicle license and must be able to obtain/maintain a USAREUR license.
- This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. You will be required to sign a DD-Form-2760, meet Qualification to possess firearms or ammunition.
- You must meet the qualifications and be certified to carry a firearm. You will need to maintain firearm proficiency.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Valid Regular or Official US Passport.
- This position is identified as Mission Essential which may require you to work or remain at work during an emergency situation or when inclement weather has curtailed operations (e.g., threat to the facility, natural disaster, delayed reporting).
- This position requires Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel approximately 25% of the time away from your permanent duty station.

**Additional information**:

- Direct deposit of pay is required.
- U.S. citizens overseas under ordinarily resident status are not eligible for appointment under the Status of Forces Agreement.
- If an employee brings a child to an overseas location and that child is entitled to attend a DoD school on a space-required basis in accordance with DoDEA Regulation 1342.13, the DoDEA and the Military Department responsible for providing related services will ensure that the child, if eligible for special education, receives a free appropriate public education, including related services pursuant to DoDI 1342.12 and DoDM 1342.12.
