Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Platform Engineering Team Lead to join our Digital Products team in Munich/Berlin/Barcelona. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading a team of Platform Engineers, providing technical guidance and mentoring to help them grow and develop their skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead a team of Platform Engineers, providing technical guidance and mentoring to help them grow and develop their skills
- Oversee the development and maintenance of the organization's technology platform, including infrastructure, tools, and processes
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product, engineering, and operations, to ensure that the platform meets the needs of the organization and its customers
- Ensure that the platform is scalable and reliable, with the ability to handle increasing levels of traffic and usage
- Work closely with the Information Security team to ensure the platform is free from security vulnerabilities and protected against external threats
Requirements
- Demonstrate leadership qualities by thinking strategically, making sustainable and data-driven decisions, emphasizing teamwork and collaboration, being flexible and adaptable, and taking responsibility and accountability
- Possess a deep understanding of network protocols, security practices, and the implementation of secure and efficient network infrastructures, including knowledge of authentication and authorization mechanisms, data encryption, and compliance requirements
- Have strong knowledge and hands-on experience in building cloud infrastructures using Amazon Web Services or similar platforms
- Utilize DevOps methodologies and tools, such as CI/CD pipelines and GitHub Actions, as well as configuration management, monitoring, and logging tools like Docker and DataDog
- Be proficient with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible for automating and managing infrastructure
- Have a good grasp of system design principles, software development lifecycle (SDLC), database (SQL/NoSQL) modeling and management, and experience with other Platform-as-a-Service providers
- Communicate effortlessly and clearly in English
