Lead Battery Cell Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Battery Cell Engineer to join our R&D team at Vaeridion GmbH. As a key member of our Technology division, you will be responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of cutting-edge battery cell technology for our all-electric aircraft.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor and assess the latest battery cell technology and market trends to inform our cell technology roadmap.
- Develop and manage relationships with cell suppliers to ensure optimal cell design, production, and procurement.
- Coordinate cell characterisation and performance validation, both in-house and with external partners.
- Support the development of battery and energy management concepts, including charging strategies and battery recycling initiatives.
- Collaborate with our team to ensure compliance with aviation authorities' regulations and standards.
- PhD, MSc, or equivalent degree in electrical engineering, physics, chemistry, materials science, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in Li-ion cell technology, materials, design, production, testing, and/or modelling.
- Established network with cell manufacturers and researchers.
- Strong motivation to help build structures and processes.
- High level of self-reliance with the ability to work in a team as well as autonomously.
- Target-oriented, driven workstyle with analytic problem-solving skills.
- Fluent English language skills are essential, fluent German or other language would be beneficial.
