Hydromechanics Professorship Opportunity

We are seeking a highly qualified Professor in Hydromechanics and Climate-friendly Water Management to join our team at the Technische Hochschule Ostwestfalen-Lippe. The successful candidate will have a strong background in education and research in the field of water management, with excellent knowledge in several subject areas, including hydromechanics, fluid dynamics, and sustainable development of water bodies.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of teaching and research experience, with a strong focus on interdisciplinary approaches and innovative teaching methods. They will be responsible for representing the department in study courses, research, and external collaborations, and will contribute to the development of new study programs and research projects.

The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to promoting diversity and inclusion, and will be expected to actively participate in the university's supervision concept and self-administrative tasks. They will also be required to offer courses in German, with the possibility of teaching in English and participating in international collaborations.

Requirements:

  • PhD in Hydrology or Civil Engineering
  • At least 5 years of professional experience, with at least 3 years outside of the university sector
  • Excellent knowledge of hydromechanics, fluid dynamics, and sustainable development of water bodies
  • Strong teaching and research experience, with a focus on interdisciplinary approaches
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
