Job Summary

We're seeking an experienced construction-based Cost Manager to join our team in Frankfurt. As a Cost Manager, you'll be responsible for pre and post-contract duties, including cost estimates, procurement, and contract administration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Pre and post-contract duties, including cost estimates, procurement, and contract administration.
  • Completing feasibility studies and writing procurement reports.
  • Estimating and cost planning, including producing and presenting the final cost plan.
  • Tendering and procurement activity, including managing the pre-qualification stage and producing the tender list.
  • Taking responsibility for timely and accurate cost checks and valuations.
  • Producing monthly post-contract cost reports and presenting them to the client.
  • Interfacing with the client and other consultants at all project stages.
  • Participating effectively in post-contract cost variances and change control processes.
  • Performing cost risk analysis and providing input into value engineering.
  • Maintaining central feedback and learning on cost estimating from prospects and projects.

Requirements

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Proven track record of delivering high-quality cost management/quantity surveying services across the full project lifecycle.
  • Experience of leading cost management commissions for large construction projects of high complexity.
  • Good knowledge of construction industry technical matters.
  • English skills are required, as well as basic German skills (min. B1), and a willingness to improve German language skills.
  • Demonstrates excellent presentation, verbal, written, and communication skills.
  • Sound organisational skills; ability to multi-task and be a team player.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office software and tools.
  • Working knowledge of cost databases and/or estimating software is advantageous.
