About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Engineering Leader to join our Supply Chain team at HelloFresh. As a key member of our engineering organization, you will be responsible for leading the definition, design, architecture, quality, and delivery of our Supply Chain services and their interfaces to the consumer service world.

Key Responsibilities

  • Steer engineering projects in multiple locations and drive cross-functional engineering decisions to deliver end-to-end value to our customers.
  • Drive decisions on unifying technology in a diverse ecosystem while considering differences in regional operations that need to be supported (vs. those that can be unified).
  • Ensure that the teams within HelloFresh are aligned to a consistent technical vision and deliver systems that fit together.
  • Lead by example as an exemplary practitioner engineer.
  • Mentor and grow staff and principal engineers.
  • Simplify and demonstrate innovation, creativity, and judgment when solving challenging problems.
  • Align with VP stakeholders on the vision and plan.
  • Influence multiple teams, increasing their productivity and effectiveness. You hold peers and teams to a high bar.
  • Find the balance between feature velocity and avoiding accrual of technical debt.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of object-oriented design, data structures, and algorithms.
  • Experience designing and building large-scale systems in a multi-tiered, distributed environment.
  • Experience in build vs. buy decisions in the Supply Chain space.
  • 8+ years of programming experience with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, Golang, Kotlin.
  • 8+ years of experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems.
  • Experience leading development life cycle process and engineering/operations best practices.
  • Effective communication and ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise form.
