Electrical Project Manager Job Description

At Hatch, we are seeking an experienced Electrical Project Manager to join our Project Delivery Group (PDG) in Essen, North Rhine, Germany. As an Electrical Project Manager, you will be responsible for leading a team of professionals and overseeing the entire electrical/automation technical project scope to achieve project goals of Quality, Time, and Cost.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team to achieve project goals of Quality, Time, and Cost
  • Manage budgets and timelines
  • Plan project resources
  • Develop and manage project schedules
  • Design and dimension electrical systems, equipment, cables, etc.
  • Conduct technical discussions with customers and suppliers
  • Oversee the creation of electrical project documentation
  • Prepare and oversee the installation and commissioning of electrical systems in the office and possibly on-site
  • Travel within and outside Germany
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of electrical processes
Requirements:
  • Completed vocational training in an electrical trade
  • Electrical engineer with DIN VDE 1000-10 certification
  • Several years of experience as an electrical designer or project engineer in international plant construction
  • Several years of experience in team leadership
  • Knowledge of drive technology, measurement technology, and energy technology
  • Knowledge of components and systems in drive technology, measurement technology, and energy technology
  • Knowledge of relevant standards and regulations for planning, construction, and commissioning of electrical systems
  • Knowledge of technical labeling systems
  • Knowledge of the Low Voltage and Machinery Directives
  • Knowledge of project management in international plant construction
  • Knowledge of claim management in international plant construction
  • Good communication skills
  • Safe handling of Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office
  • Secure knowledge of the English language in writing and speaking. Knowledge of specific electrical technical terms.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of claim management in international plant construction
  • Knowledge of EPLAN P8
  • Knowledge of software tools Simaris, Sistema
  • Knowledge of explosion protection in electrical systems
  • Knowledge of functional safety, SIL, PL
  • Knowledge of lightning and overvoltage protection
  • Knowledge of fire protection in electrical systems
  • Knowledge of medium-voltage systems
