Search Engineer Specialist (Java)

We are seeking a highly skilled Search Engineer Specialist (Java) to join our team at Delivery Hero. As a key member of our Search team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing cutting-edge search applications that transform the food and grocery delivery industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement high-performance search applications using Java
  • Develop and maintain scalable search services used across multiple countries and languages
  • Craft and maintain world-class search APIs and services
  • Contribute to the development of innovative content discovery platforms using machine learning
  • Participate in code reviews and application debugging and diagnosis
  • Practice modern software development methodologies such as continuous delivery and scrum

Requirements:

  • Extensive knowledge and experience with Java and SQL databases
  • Experience with setting up low-latency scalable architectures
  • Solid experience in the design and implementation of APIs and design patterns
  • Interest in working with Google Cloud and Microservice architectures
  • Development and co-ownership of applications used by millions of users
  • Ability to mentor team members and grow their knowledge
  • Degree in Computer Science or any related field

Nice to Have:

  • Experience working with Elasticsearch/Solr/Lucene and interest in topic of Information Retrieval
  • Knowledge and experience in developing search applications and systems
  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, and Terraform
