AV Technician Job Description

The AV Technician position at M.C. Dean involves the mechanical assembly, wiring, installation, and testing of AV systems in our Pre-Installation, Test and Check Out Facilities (PITCO) and in customer facilities. This role requires installing fiber optic cable, network cabling, cable dressing, reading/marking up wiring documentation, and operational training of customer personnel.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Install and test AV systems in various facilities
  • Perform mechanical assembly and wiring of AV systems
  • Install fiber optic cable and network cabling
  • Read and mark up wiring documentation
  • Provide operational training to customer personnel
Requirements:
  • Active passport
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in installation and/or maintenance of audio/visual systems
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Government security investigation and clearance
Desired Experience and Skills:
  • Lead Technician/Foreman experience
  • Fiber optic cable installation and certification
  • Electronic circuit testing procedures and testing devices
  • Volt/AMP meter and related experience
Abilities:
  • Lifts at least 100 pounds at one time and 60 pounds for an extended period
  • Relocates a 12-foot stepladder without assistance
  • Works at various heights up to 60 feet and can climb and maintain balance on scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks, and all types of ladders
