Aircraft Avionics Technician

We are seeking a skilled Aircraft Avionics Technician to join our team at Amentum. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for installing, removing, inspecting, testing, adjusting, or repairing avionics equipment, such as radar, radio, and navigation systems in aircraft.
Key Responsibilities:- Install and repair electrical wiring and/or cable on aircraft in adherence to established specifications.
- Cut and strip wire, insulate connections.
- Assemble components such as switches, electrical controls, and junction boxes, using hand tools and soldering irons.
- Safely prepare aircraft for inspections and maintenance checks and services.
- Perform scheduled inspections and assist in performing special inspections.
- Perform limited maintenance operational checks and diagnoses and troubleshoots aircraft systems using special tools and test equipment as required.
- Use and perform operator maintenance on tools, special tools and aircraft ground support equipment.
- High School Graduate or equivalent is required.
- Five (5) years of recent applicable aircraft maintenance experience.
- FAA A&P or FCC Elements 1 and 3 required.
- Must possess (FAA) A&P certificate, with at least Two (2) years' aviation maintenance experience, and Two years on the assigned MDS (UH60, CH47 and/or AH64).
- All experience must be within the Five (5) most recent years.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance, (NACI T1) Public Trust. US Citizenship is required to obtain the required NACI Clearance.
- Valid US Passport Required for travel to Germany.
- TESA Approval: (German Govt) Must be able to qualify for TESA approval; with 5 years career total Aviation maintenance experience in the last 5 years.
- Possess good communication skills; be adaptable, diversified and capable of troubleshooting entire aircraft system.
- Working knowledge of electrical, electronic, mechanical and associated systems principles to complete properly all probable work task.
- Knowledge of Quality Control, Production and Supply procedures required to perform job assignment.
- Able to determine when faulty systems or assemblies can be corrected through repair of replacement of new parts and the nature and extent of repair required.
- Must be able to climb, stand, stoop, bend, stretch, crouch and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions.
- Frequently lift parts and equipment up to 20 pounds.
- Occasionally lift objects up to 50 pounds.
