BASF Digital Solutions GmbH is seeking a talented and driven Senior Data Scientist - Production AI to join our innovative team. We are dedicated to empowering BASF's digital transformation through cutting-edge solutions, fostering customer experiences, and driving operational efficiency.
As part of the Production Artificial Intelligence - Advanced Data Analytics team, you will play a pivotal role in developing and implementing AI-powered solutions across various production applications. Your expertise will be instrumental in shaping the future of manufacturing at BASF.
Responsibilities- Lead the development lifecycle of AI projects, from conceptualization and prototyping to deployment, maintenance, and ongoing support.
- Collaborate closely with internal business partners to identify their needs and translate them into comprehensive software specifications.
- Design, develop, and implement innovative data science models and solutions leveraging state-of-the-art techniques and frameworks.
- Manage and scale global AI services, including Condition Monitoring, Computer Vision, and Generative AI, ensuring seamless integration and optimal performance.
- Drive continuous improvement by adapting services to evolving software updates and addressing the expectations of business partners.
- Master's or PhD degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Natural Sciences, or Information Technology with a focus on data-driven applications.
- Proven experience in developing complex data science software solutions, preferably within cloud-based environments.
- Strong proficiency in machine learning using Python and (graph-)databases, coupled with expertise in cloud technologies (Microsoft Azure).
- Deep understanding of Computer Vision, Generative AI, and analytics techniques for processing sensor and time-series data.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills in English and German, enabling effective collaboration within a diverse team.
- Familiarity with agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum) and DevOps concepts is highly desirable.
- A creative and motivated mindset with a passion for innovation and customer-centric solutions.
