Position Title: Research Intern in Plasma Treatment Technologies

The 'Tribological Systems' team is offering a student project (Bachelor's or Master's thesis) focused on 'Plasma Nitriding of Austenitic Steels at Reduced Intensities'. This project aims to preserve corrosion resistance while minimizing interfacial resistance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducting literature reviews on plasma diffusion treatments for austenitic stainless steels, with a particular emphasis on corrosion characteristics.
- Executing plasma diffusion treatments on austenitic stainless steels.
- Evaluating surface properties, especially regarding corrosion performance.
- Preparing metallographic cross-sections and performing detailed analyses to correlate surface properties with structural characteristics and diffusion zones.
We seek a proactive team member with a methodical approach and a keen interest in scientific research. Students pursuing degrees in Chemistry, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or related disciplines are encouraged to consider this opportunity.
