Job Title: Research Assistant in Plasma Diffusion

The group 'Tribological Systems' is offering a student project (Bachelor's, Master's thesis) on the topic 'Plasma Nitriding of Austenitic Steels at Low Intensities'. The focus of this project is to maintain corrosion resistance while achieving low interfacial resistance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct in-depth literature research on plasma diffusion treatment of austenitic stainless steels, focusing on corrosion behavior.
- Develop and execute plasma diffusion treatment protocols for austenitic stainless steels.
- Analyze surface properties, particularly corrosion behavior, using advanced techniques.
- Prepare and analyze metallographic cross-sections to correlate surface properties with the structure/diffusion zone.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Students in Chemistry, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or similar fields are encouraged to apply.
- Strong initiative and structured work ethic.
- Interest in scientific research and development.
