Electrical Systems Technician

Job Summary

This position is located in the U.S. Army Europe and Africa. The selected candidate will work as an Electrical Systems Technician, installing, modifying, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and equipment up to 20kV voltage. The ideal candidate will have experience with electrical distribution panels, fixtures, apparatus, transformers, switchgear, emergency power units, signal and alarm units, interior and exterior illumination, UPS systems, and HVAC devices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, modify, maintain, and repair electrical systems and equipment up to 20kV voltage.
  • Use a variety of tools, including test meters and test lamps, to perform electrical work.
  • Assist with large-scale repairs and have oversight of the Utility Monitoring Control System (UMCS).
  • Plan and lay out electrical lines, circuits, systems, equipment, and control instruments.
  • Operate and maintain a transport vehicle for daily duties.

Requirements

  • Completed vocational training in the electrical trade or 5 years of specialized experience.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 44 lbs.
  • Valid German driver's license and ability to obtain a military driver's license.
  • English Language Proficiency level A1 and German Language Proficiency level C1.
