Electrical Technician (Energy, Building Technology, High Voltage)

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Technician to join our team at U.S. Army Europe and Africa. As an Electrical Technician, you will be responsible for installing, modifying, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems, including distribution panels, fixtures, apparatus, transformers, switchgear, emergency power units, signal and alarm units, interior and exterior illumination, UPS systems, HVAC, and other electrical devices up to 20kV.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Install, modify, maintain, and repair electrical systems, including distribution panels, fixtures, apparatus, transformers, switchgear, emergency power units, signal and alarm units, interior and exterior illumination, UPS systems, HVAC, and other electrical devices up to 20kV.
  • Use a full variety of trade's tools, including test meters and test lamps.
  • Perform daily system checks, schedule maintenance and service, and plan required software updates with internal and external support agencies.
  • Track monthly utility consumption and transmit quarterly utility consumption data for invoicing purposes.
  • Act as Point of Contact (POC) in the absence of the Branch Chief.
Requirements:
  • Completed vocational training in the appropriate trade with a duration of at least 30 months.
  • 5 years of specialized experience, or
  • Completed vocational training in the appropriate trade with a duration of at least 30 months, plus 2 years of experience in the Wage Group 5 or equivalent, or
  • 8 years of specialized experience, of which 3 years must have been performed at the Wage Group 5 or equivalent level.
Language Proficiency:

English Language Proficiency level A1 and German Language Proficiency level C1 required.
