PhD Position in Physics and Engineering for MRI Magnet Simulation

**About the Project**
The German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ) is seeking a highly motivated PhD researcher to join our team in the field of MRI magnet simulation. Our research focuses on the development and investigation of novel magnet geometries optimized for MR-guided ion therapy.
**Your Tasks**
- Participate in a multidisciplinary research project to design and simulate MRI magnets for MR-guided radiation therapy
- Collaborate with scientific partners at the DKFZ and the Heidelberg Ion Beam Therapy Center (HIT)
- Interact with a commercial magnet vendor to incorporate practical design parameters
- Derive specific requirements for magnet design and materials using numerical simulations
- Contribute to the optimization of other MRI subsystems, such as gradients and radiofrequency hardware
- Publish research findings in high-ranked journals and present at scientific conferences
**Your Profile**
- Master's degree in physics, medical physics, engineering, mathematics, or a related field
- Experience in MR physics, scientific programming, and electromagnetic simulations is an advantage
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Reliability, self-initiative, and motivation
- Excellent knowledge of English, both written and spoken; German beneficial
