Risk Underwriter for Political Risks

Munich Re is seeking an experienced Risk Underwriter for Political Risks to join our team. As a key member of our underwriting team, you will be responsible for managing client relationships, underwriting political risk and credit reinsurance programs, and driving business development activities.
Key Responsibilities- Assume responsibility for the underwriting of treaty and facultative reinsurance contracts with a focus on primary insurers, export credit agencies, and multilateral organizations covering political risk investment, contract frustration, and credit insurance.
- Conduct market and client potential analysis, define strategies to capitalize on profitable business opportunities, and implement derived strategies.
- Establish and strengthen close and long-term relationships with clients and brokers.
- Design and deliver innovative solutions tailored to the needs of clients and prospects, extending beyond traditional reinsurance.
- Solid knowledge of political risk and credit insurance.
- Degree in International Business, Economics, Mathematics, Law, or equivalent field.
- Technical reinsurance competence, including the use of pricing models and single risk assessment tools.
- Excellent negotiating, communication, and networking skills to build long-term relationships with clients and brokers.
- Highly motivated team player with good interpersonal skills and the ability to support the further development of the underwriting team.
- Sound analytical thinking and ability to work effectively and solution-oriented.
- Excellent proficiency in English.
- Willingness to travel.
