About the Role

Munich Re is seeking an experienced Client Underwriter for Political Risks to join our team. As a key member of our credit reinsurance unit, you will be responsible for managing client relationships, underwriting political risk and credit reinsurance programs, and driving business development activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Underwrite treaty and facultative reinsurance contracts with primary insurers, export credit agencies, and multilateral organizations, focusing on political risk investment, contract frustration, and credit insurance.
  • Analyze market and client potentials, define strategies to capitalize on profitable business opportunities, and implement derived plans.
  • Establish and strengthen relationships with clients and brokers, designing and delivering innovative solutions tailored to their needs.
Requirements
  • Solid knowledge of political risk and credit insurance.
  • Degree in International Business, Economics, Mathematics, Law, or equivalent field.
  • Technical reinsurance competence, including pricing models and single risk assessment tools.
  • Excellent negotiating, communication, and networking skills to build long-term relationships.
  • Highly motivated team player with good interpersonal skills and ability to support team development.
  • Sound analytical thinking and ability to work effectively and solution-oriented.
  • Excellent proficiency in English.
  • Willingness to travel.
