Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Risk Management Specialist to join our team in the energy trading business. As a Risk Management Specialist, you will play a crucial role in managing risks for our energy trading operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement risk management strategies to minimize future risks in our energy trading operations.
- Evaluate, measure, and monitor risks in accordance with our risk management framework, including Value-at-Risk (VaR), stress testing, and validation of input parameters used by valuation and risk measurement models.
- Collaborate with financial planning, energy accounting, regulatory groups, financial reporting, contracts group, gas & power supply operations to stay up-to-date on current events and issues surrounding power resources and regulations.
- Provide analytical support to the company for strategy development and the portfolio hedging program, and stay up-to-date with Energy and Commodity market developments.
- Perform trainings and strengthen awareness of risk management practices, educate the businesses and operations team.
Requirements
- Degree in economics, business administration, mathematics, business mathematics, business information systems, or an equivalent experience in the energy-, finance or insurance sector.
- Professional Risk Manager (PRM) certification may be beneficial.
- At least 2 years experience in the energy business, power would be a plus.
- Experienced with Trading systems, ideally ETRM systems (e.g. Allegro, FIS, Contigo,...).
- Strong working knowledge of risk management and previous experience working with risk (i.e. risk assistant or risk analyst).
- Understanding of economic optimization, risk and market analytics.
- Solid research skills using the internet and first-person interviews.
- Computer, data entry and MS Office skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken, fluent in English and ideally also German.
