Energy Operations Specialist

BASF Renewable Energy GmbH is shaping the future of energy management. We are seeking an experienced Energy Operations Specialist to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement and support balancing group management for power, including balancing and nomination management, as well as energy data management.
  • Ensure the successful execution and ongoing technical assistance of power exchanges and bid processes from an IT-technical perspective.
  • Setup the Front Office IT System (eRisk Power) and ETRM interfaces, and support site development projects.
  • Participate in the conceptual strategies and further development of energy logistics processes and IT systems.
  • Integrate and expand balancing group management and market access via BASF Renewable Energy as a service for customers.

Requirements:

  • Completed university studies in energy management, electrical/mechanical engineering, business informatics/computer science, economics, or comparable.
  • Experience in the energy industry and/or balancing group management.
  • Excellent knowledge of power markets and regulations in EU countries, as well as understanding of IT systems and interfaces.
  • Experience in and understanding of balancing regulation.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • High degree of personal responsibility and high attention to detail.
  • Proven time management skills, able to work effectively under pressure, and consistently reliable.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, in German and English, fluency in any other EU language is a plus, as well as ability to translate complex technical information into non-technical language.
