As an Underwriting Oversight Specialist, you will play a crucial role in supporting the oversight of UW outsourced activities and controls over the value chain (underwriting/pricing/product design).

  • Collaborate with the team to act as the interface between the Underwriting and Products team and the business units in relation to Delegated Authority business, including support and coordination of product development, data requirements, policy design, and regulatory feedback and broader strategic direction.
  • Support the measurement of the efficiency and effectiveness of the underwriting oversight framework.
  • Assess the adequacy of underwriting processes and controls to ensure underwriting operational risks are within risk appetite levels and meet regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in quarterly meetings with business units to discuss current performance and set up periodical performance reviews of the business unit(s), including follow-up and closing of actions.
  • Collaborate in meetings with Great Lakes stakeholders and outsourced parties to review/redesign underwriting oversight activities.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Experience in Underwriting and Product management, and/or Audit, Operational Risk Management, or similar areas; a degree in one of those areas is beneficial.
  • Working knowledge of Power BI and/or similar dashboards and exposure analytics tools.
  • Ideal knowledge of the Munich Re Group organization.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to interact in Group project teams and cross-divisional project teams in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication in German and English.
