Operational Purchasing Specialist

As an Operational Purchasing Specialist at Sonova, you will be part of the Global Supply Planning team based near Hannover, Germany. This team plays a crucial role in the company, acting as a key interface between operations, sales, and product management. Your primary responsibility will be to manage purchase volumes for a set of products in line with departmental goals on inventory and availability. You will also focus on sourcing items within the Sonova Group, which involves a range of tasks related to planning and supply, including coordination with production and disposition teams, communication with internal stakeholders, and maintaining item and master data in the ERP system.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Operative purchasing for a dedicated set of products, including placing orders and serving as the main contact for a group of suppliers.
  • Supporting the purchasing process for new product launches, working closely with strategic purchasing on pricing and availability of key components.
  • Maintaining all relevant item and master data, reconciling supplier delivery dates and information in the ERP system, and cooperating with the logistics team for freight aspects.
  • Allocating stock to central warehouses based on forecasts, processing invoices and other documents related to the ordering process.

Your Profile:

  • A minimum of 3 years of commercial training with a focus on business administration, supply chain, or similar fields.
  • A minimum of 2-5 years of professional experience in planning and purchasing, with a focus on customer needs.
  • The ability to communicate fluently in English and German in a fast-paced work environment worldwide.
  • Precision and reliability in executing daily tasks.
  • A willingness to assist in implementing new processes and procedures that affect the team.
  • An understanding of sales requirements and drivers in different local markets.
  • A positive attitude and approach to tasks with enthusiasm and motivation.
  • Previous experience working with ERP systems, preferably JDE and Futurmaster, ideally SAP.
  • A strong team player with good intercultural communication skills, both within the team and with customers and suppliers.
  • Mastery of Microsoft Office 365 packages.
