Financial Operations Manager

The City of Tucson's Business Services Department is seeking a highly skilled Finance Administrator to oversee the planning, delivery, and implementation of financial functions. This role will work closely with department directors, finance managers, and support staff to manage and support the City's financial goals.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to ensure conformity to local, state, and federal regulations.
- Analyze financial data and trends to generate financial reports and design evaluation tools to ensure accurate financial data.
- Coordinate the preparation of the City's Annual Comprehensive Financial Report and manage special projects and issues by communicating financial impacts.
- Directly supervise one or more full-time employees, providing direction and guidance, and participate in staff recruitment and retention activities.
- Lead and implement the department's vision through division activities, ensuring maximum employee productivity and morale.
- Maintain professional knowledge through various means, such as attending seminars, reviewing professional publications, and participating in professional organizations.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or Finance.
- Five years of directly related experience, including accounting, budget management, finance, and supervision experience.
- Professional certification from a recognized financial association, such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Public Finance Officer (CPFO), or Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM).
- Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree.
- Finance experience in a public sector setting.
