Financial Operations Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Finance Administrator to join our team at the City of Tucson's Business Services Department. As a key member of our finance team, you will be responsible for overseeing the planning, delivery, and implementation of financial functions, including budgeting, contracting, and special projects.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Analyze financial data and trends to generate financial reports and make informed decisions.
- Coordinate the preparation of the City's Annual Comprehensive Financial Report and ensure accurate financial data.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure conformity of program operations to standards and regulations.
- Directly supervise one or more full-time employees, providing direction and guidance, and participating in the selection of staff recruitment and retention activities.
- Lead and implement the department's vision through division activities, ensuring maximum employee productivity and morale.
- Maintain professional knowledge through various means, such as attending seminars, reviewing professional publications, and participating in professional organizations.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or Finance.
- Five (5) years of directly related experience in accounting, budget management, finance, or supervision.
- Professional certification from a recognized financial association, such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Public Finance Officer (CPFO), or Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM).
- Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree.
- Finance experience in a public sector setting.
