About the Role
METRO is a leading international wholesale company seeking a skilled professional to facilitate the implementation of its Multichannel Network Transformation on a global scale. As the Head of Logistics Solution Design and Optimization, you will manage the process of evolving METRO's multichannel network assets, including design, approval, and execution, across Corporate and Country stakeholders and towards the strategic objectives as defined by the Group Strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide accurate and continuously up-to-date information at any time on METRO's global network plan, including current status, asset transformation investment proposals, approvals, and implementation.
- Ensure build-to-suit of network transformation projects during the design phase, optimizing sizing and infrastructure in-line with capacity needs.
- Implement a standard capacity calculation approach across countries and projects and continuously improve and enrich the simulation model based on implemented sites and real-life feedback.
- Review network nodes' performance and capacity utilization after go-live, identify best practices, and share with the global network transformation community.
- Determine and track saturation levels of the global multichannel network, anticipating potential bottlenecks and avoiding capacity constraints that may limit targeted FSD growth ambitions.
- Design and continuously enhance technological tools for network design, as well as the associated elaboration of scenario analyses, capacity parametrization, and operational process modeling.
- Support and safeguard countries in the execution of the Network Transformation and ensure the training of relevant key stakeholders in the country.
- Define and align KPIs along the network evolution path to trigger the right changes to the network at the right time, considering Service Level, CAPEX, and OPEX requirements.
- Ensure multilateral stakeholder management, as the implications of this role are broad, so are the stakeholders involved.
Requirements
- University degree in supply chain management or economics or engineering.
- Broad understanding of FMCG wholesale business requirements and dynamics, specifically supply chain- and fulfillment operations, while an understanding of store operations can be beneficial.
- Solid experience in warehouse design, calculation, and optimization. Relevant experience in a consultancy environment can be a plus.
- Experience as a project manager or process manager will be an advantage.
- Reliable and responsible way of working in a multicultural setting.
- Strategic conceptual skills, able to manage complexity and strive for simplification.
- Analytical and problem-solving-oriented thinking.
- Fluent in English (spoken and written); third language welcome.
