Product Development Process Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Process Engineer to join our team at Thyssenkrupp Nucera. As a key member of our development team, you will be responsible for developing new, innovative, and cost-effective solutions for our alkaline electrolysis cells and electrolyzer stacks for green hydrogen applications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement new technologies and processes to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of our electrolysis cells and stacks.
  • Identify and prioritize areas for improvement and develop strategies to address them.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and test new products and processes.
  • Conduct technical conversations with clients, suppliers, and partners to ensure alignment and meet customer needs.
  • Commission test facility plants and support the commissioning of commercial plants.
  • Analyze results, prepare presentations, and report findings to stakeholders.
  • Transfer development results into product solutions, working closely with product development and process engineering teams.
Requirements
  • University degree in chemical engineering, process engineering, technical chemistry, or electrochemistry.
  • Adequate work experience in chemical plants and the field of alkaline water electrolysis or Chlor-Alkali technology.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify development potentials and define meaningful development projects.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Proficiency in German and English.
  • Ability to travel regularly, both domestically and internationally.
