Senior Project Manager for New Product Introduction

This position is responsible for planning and executing the New Product Introduction of new pyrometer products at Advanced Energy. The primary focus is on managing schedule, scope, budget, and internal communication for leading-edge, highly engineered technology in the semi-conductor and industrial markets.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead a team of engineers, supply chain, marketing, and manufacturing professionals through the Product Development Process, including:

  • Defining the work required for new products.
  • Developing comprehensive, integrated plans to meet aggressive business commitments for new products.
  • Creating and maintaining project plans and timelines using relevant project management tools to identify milestones and deliverables.
  • Driving execution to meet or exceed program targets.
  • Monitoring and quantifying progress of engineering efforts.
  • Developing qualification plans and reports.
  • Effectively communicating status and results to senior management and external customers.
  • Planning, directing, and monitoring schedules and budget/spending, reporting on budget/spending status to the Finance group.
  • Adjusting schedules and targets on the project as needs or financing for the project change.
  • Ensuring completion of the project, i.e., the product meets requirements, is on schedule, and within budget constraints.

Requirements:

  • Fluent in English, able to speak, create presentations, and communicate technical details internally and to customers.
  • Fluent in German, able to speak, create presentations, and communicate technical details internally and to customers.

Experience:

Essential:

  • 5+ years of experience in corporate project management, new product introduction, or product management.
  • Strong history of Project Leadership and successfully managing high-performance cross-functional teams towards a common goal.

Preferred:

  • Experience as a design engineer, preferably in electronics or optics.
  • Previous experience in managing multiple projects.
  • 5+ years of experience in managing large, cross-functional teams and projects (indirect + direct reports).
  • 10+ years of experience in a high-tech engineering or manufacturing environment.

Education:

Essential:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, Operations Management, or a closely related field, or a combination of relevant experience and/or education that is equivalent to a minimum of five years of experience.

Preferred:

  • PMP certification.
  • PMI certification.
  • Master's degree in Engineering.
