About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Software Stack Developer to join our team at the Deutsches Krebsforschungszentrum (DKFZ). As a key member of our Omics IT and Data Management Core Facility, you will play a crucial role in developing tailored software stacks for data processing in cloud environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish and Manage Communication Channels: Develop and maintain a communication channel to support scientists and data analysts in adapting their workflows and software stacks for cloud operation.
  • Software Stack Development and Maintenance: Set up and maintain a versioned repository for software stacks, ensuring accessibility and reusability of developed components.
  • Documentation and Security: Develop automated methods for documenting software stacks and regularly update existing stacks to incorporate the latest software versions. Establish processes for identifying and resolving security vulnerabilities through automated tests.
  • Training and Knowledge Transfer: Conduct peer-to-peer training sessions to efficiently transfer expertise to colleagues.
Requirements
  • Master's Degree in Computer Science or Related Field
  • Proven Experience in Cloud Computing and Software Stack Development
  • Strong Programming Skills and Familiarity with Version Control Systems
  • Knowledge of Cloud Platforms and Containerization Technologies
  • Excellent Collaboration and Communication Skills in English
