We are establishing a new data competence center, de.KCD, dedicated to enhancing cloud expertise in areas such as cloud computing, data management within cloud environments, and workflow optimization. We are looking for a proficient and enthusiastic Cloud Software Stack Developer to join our team. In this role, you will assist in the creation of customized software stacks for data processing in cloud settings. Collaborating closely with scientists and data analysts across various fields, you will develop and refine software stacks that utilize cloud technologies. Additionally, you will contribute to the creation of training materials and facilitate user meetings and educational sessions.

Your Responsibilities
  • Establish and oversee a communication channel, such as a ticketing system, to provide active support to scientists and data analysts in adapting their workflows and software stacks for cloud deployment.
  • Set up and manage a version-controlled repository (e.g., GitLab) for software stacks, ensuring the accessibility and reusability of developed components.
  • Develop automated documentation methods for software stacks and regularly update existing stacks to include the latest software versions.
  • Implement processes for identifying and addressing security vulnerabilities through automated testing.
  • Conduct peer-to-peer training sessions at consortium locations or virtually to effectively share expertise.
Your Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience in cloud computing, software stack development, and automation.
  • Strong programming capabilities (e.g., Python, Bash) and familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills in English.
