Marine Surveyor

RINA is seeking a highly skilled Marine Surveyor to join its team in Hamburg, Germany.
Key Responsibilities:
- Technical Expertise: Provide expert technical advice to clients and shipowners on classification, design, construction, and maintenance of vessels.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to classification society rules, international regulations, and statutory requirements during surveys and inspections.
- Problem-Solving: Act as a troubleshooter, addressing technical issues and challenges during surveys or client interactions.
- Quality Assurance: Implement quality assurance measures in survey processes to uphold accuracy and reliability in inspection reports.
- Client Education: Educate clients on classification society processes, rules, and the importance of compliance for safety and operational efficiency.
- Documentation and Reporting: Develop and maintain standardized templates for inspection reports, ensuring consistency and clarity in reporting.
- Collaboration and Teamwork: Collaborate with colleagues to share knowledge, experiences, and best practices.
- Continuous Professional Development: Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with evolving industry standards, technologies, and best practices.
- Ethical Conduct: Uphold the highest ethical standards in all professional interactions.
Requirements:
- Master's Degree in Naval Engineering
- Minimum 3 years experience working as a Junior Surveyor or 5 years experience in the engineering or survey fields within the marine industry
- Proficiency in English language
- Ability to develop a working knowledge of RINA Rules, Guides, statutory regulations, and related instructions
- Ability to understand engineering plans and have a basic knowledge of shipbuilding practices and ship operations
