Scientific Researcher in Glycan Analysis

Job Opportunity:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced researcher to join our team at Freie Universität Berlin. The successful candidate will be responsible for analyzing tandem mass spectrometry fragmentation pathways of glycans and structural assignments of glycan fragments using a combination of ion mobility mass spectrometry, gas phase infrared spectroscopy, and density functional theory.

Requirements:

  • Completed scientific degree (M.Sc. or Diploma) and completed doctorate in physical or analytical chemistry
  • Experience in mass spectrometry, tandem mass spectrometry, and ion mobility mass spectrometry
  • Experience in density functional theory
  • Experience with gas phase reaction mechanisms

Desirable:

  • Experience in the development of custom software solutions using Python
  • Very good command of written and spoken English
  • Very good communication and writing skills
