Research Assistant Position

We are seeking a highly motivated researcher to join our team at the Weierstraß-Institut für Angewandte Analysis und Stochastik. The successful candidate will be part of our Research Group "Numerical Mathematics and Scientific Computing" and will work on a collaborative research project involving several leading European research institutions.
The project aims to develop a scalable, high-performance computational platform for digital twins of human organs using the deal.II library. The role of the Weierstraß-Institut will be to develop a prototype of a liver mechanics simulator accounting for multiscale processes and integrating data assimilation methods.
We are looking for a researcher with a strong background in computational mechanics, numerical methods for partial differential equations, and computational multiscale models. Experience with scientific object-oriented programming languages (C++, Python) is highly relevant. Knowledge of deal.II is desirable but not required.
The position is remunerated according to TVöD Bund and is limited to two years. The working hours are 39 hours per week. We are an equal opportunity employer and explicitly encourage female researchers to apply for the offered position.
