Research Scientist in Swarm Robotics

We are seeking a highly motivated and talented research scientist to join our newly founded research group at the University of Konstanz. The successful applicant will contribute to the development of novel control software for multi-robot systems, leveraging techniques from machine learning, evolutionary computation, and reinforcement learning.

The research has a strong interdisciplinary focus, at the intersection of machine learning, robotics, and collective behavior. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work in one of the best research environments for collective behavior and interact with the global research community.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research in the field of large-scale mobile multi-robot systems and imitation learning
  • Develop novel control software for multi-robot systems
  • Collaborate with the research group to advance the state-of-the-art in swarm robotics
  • Supervise students who contribute to the research

Requirements:

  • Strong written and oral communication skills in English
  • Scientific graduate degree (MSc or equivalent) in Computer Science or Robotics with excellent grades
  • Experience in mobile robotics, machine learning, and mathematical modeling
  • Strong motivation and determination
  • Very good team skills
